AWS Data Eng (PTA contract)

A client in Gauteng is seeking an Intermediate AWS Data Engineer on contract as follows

Responsibilities:

• To design and build data pipelines in AWS
• Design the data modelling, data mapping, data flows, triggers, etc. as a tech spec
• Extract and cleanse data from various data sources and transform into target models
• Assist Data Analysts to understand the data and to present it as meaningful insights

Skill Requirements:

• 2 – 3 yrs Data Engineer exp. using AWS (required)
• 4-5 yrs exp. in a BI Dev / Data Analyst role (required)
• 8 – 10+ yrs exp. in Databases like Oracle, SQL, PostgreSQL
• 2-3 yrs exp. in AWS data pipelines incl. Glue, S3, EC2, Cloud9, Snowflake, Kafka
• Implement Infra-As-Code (IaC) solutions using TerraForm
• Use API calls like JSON to integrate with Source / Target DB’s
• Preferably with Consulting exp. (not permanent / internal)
• Must have excellent Technical English language skills (required)
• A Comp. Science / Eng. degree are a major plus

Work Arrangement:

• This is a long term contract (usually 12 months to 2-3 years)
• With a Hybrid working arrangement (2-3 days / week at their offices in PTA)
• Any Travel and Accom (T&A) for commuting to PTA is excl.
