Lead Data Eng (CPT / JHB perm)

A client is seeking a Lead Data Engineer with AWS and AI/ML skills as follows

Responsibilities:

• To architect their AI / ML data models and deep learning solutions on AWS Cloud
• Lead a team of 8 Data Scientists / Engineers with their solutions on AWS Cloud
• Draft strategies and processes to guide the Data Science / Engineering teams
• SME on all AI / ML projects, providing key insights and guidance to the business
• Manage AI / ML partnerships with external stakeholders and mentor their team members

Skills Required:

• 8-10 yrs exp. in Data Engineering / Data Science, incl. some exp. on the AWS Cloud stack
• At least 2-3 yrs exp. as a Team Lead, incl. exp. with AI/ ML Data Engineering teams
• With solid exp. in AI / ML Modeling, Frameworks, Algorithms and Deep Learning
• Some Project Management exp. and Vendor Management exp. is ideal (not required)
• A degree in Data Science / Comp. Science / Eng. or similar is beneficial (not required)

Work Arrangement:

• This is a permanent work position
• With a hybrid work method (1-2 days / week at their offices)
• Their offices are in Cape Town and in Gauteng (Sandton)
• Relocation to Cape Town / Gauteng is included (at the client’s cost)
