Oracle DBA (SA remote contract)

A client in Cape Town is seeking a Senior Oracle DBA on contract as follows

Responsibilities:

• To join a team that manages their Oracle DB servers
• Ensure the performance / availability of their DB’s meet their data management needs
• Use analytical methods to find issues like long-running queries and tune accordingly
• Automate routines like backups and restoring, as well as ensuring Database Security
• Support Dev teams with their design and implementation of DB schema’s
• This is a very Senior level role, not a Systems Admin type Oracle DB role

Skills required:

• At least 7 to 10+ yrs Oracle DBA exp. is required
• Preferably from a Solutions Consulting background (not in-house staff)
• Oracle Cert. Professional (OCP) or related DBA certs will be useful (not required)

Work Arrangement:

• This is a 12 month full time work contract
• Fully remote work (Work From Home)
• Normal office hours, with rotating stand-by schedules
• Occasional ad-hoc visits to their offices in Cape Town
• Must be located in South Africa
