Telephony Network Eng. (Sierra Leone contract)

A client based in Sierra Leone is looking for an Intermediate Telephony Network Engineer as follows:

• To plan, design and implement 5G network rollout projects in Sierra Leone
• Utilize Fibre and Microwave transmission with Ethernet and IP/ MPLS routing
• Design the network topology, incl. IP addressing / routing protocols
• Config / setup 5G network equipment, incl. routers, switches and optical / fibre
• Do site surveys, path profiling, frequency planning, link analysis, etc. for optimal coverage
• Do capacity planning, based on network traffic analysis, for planning growth / expansion
• Do network optimization / QoS profiling, to improve performance and troubleshoot issues etc.

Skills Required:

• At least 5 yrs exp. required in design and rollout / maintenance of telephony networks
• From a strong Telephony Network background, at either big Telco’s or ISP’s
• Solid exp. in IP and transmission protocols, incl. TCP/IP, MPLS, OSPF, BGP and Ethernet
• Solid exp. in config/setup of transmission equipment, incl. Cisco, Huawei and Nokia
• A Comp. Science or similar degree is required, with certs in Cisco / Network Engineering is ideal

This is a 12 month contract based full-time in Freetown, Sierra Leone with all travel and accom. included

4 weeks annual leave will be allowed, as well as 2 weeks remote work (from anywhere)
