AWS Data Eng. Lead (CPT / JHB, perm)

A client is seeking an AWS Data Engineering Team Lead in either Cape Town or Gauteng as follows

• AWS Cloud Architect for their AI / ML division, leading a team of 8 Data Scientists / Engineers
• Implement strategies for the AI / ML Data Science / Eng. teams to deliver on bus objectives
• Responsible for the overall architecture of their AI / ML Data Models on AWS
• SME on all AI / ML projects, providing key insights and guidance
• Manage AI / ML partnerships with key stakeholders and mentor / coach team members

Skills Required:

• 8 to 10 yrs exp. in Data Engineering / Data Science, esp. on the AWS tech stack
• 3 to 5 yrs exp. as a Team Lead, incl. exp. with AI/ ML Data Engineering teams
• Solid exp. in AI / ML Models, Frameworks, Algorithms and Deep Learning on AWS
• Some Project Management exp. and Vendor Management exp. is ideal
• A Master’s degree in Data Science / Comp. Science or Engineering or similar is required

This is a permanent position with a hybrid work method (2 days / week in either Cape Town or Sandton)

If relocation to Cape Town or Gauteng is required, it will be included (at the client’s cost)
