Data Manager (Cpt / Jhb, Perm)

A client in Cape Town is seeking a manager for their Data Management team as follows

• To manage a team of Data Managers that will implement a DM framework across the org.
• Recruit, mentor, coach and guide your DM team, as an SME in the DM field
• Set Data Governance standards across the org, incl. Data Protection, Security and QA protocols
• Plan Agile projects to support businesss Data goals with related processes, policies and practices
• Engage with Data Product Owners and Service Owners across the organization to accomplish it
• Ensure the AWS migration team’s Data requirements for cloud migration are met(Azure exp. will count)
• Engage with Vendors to support your initiatives with DM tools (currently using Collibra/ MANTA)
• Ideally you will have Collibra (a metadata catalog) and MANTA exp. (for data lineage / traceability)
• Understand the impact of Regulatory Compliance on Data (like POPI, RDARR, GDPR, PCI DSS, etc.)
• Must have 5 to 7+ yrs exp. in implementing DM frameworks / tools and ideally 3+ yrs as a Manager
• TOGAF, DM BOK and Agile / SCRUM or similar certification will be preferable (not required)
• Banking or Financial Services industry background is ideal (not required)

This is a permanent role at Manager / Exec level, at their Cape Town or Gauteng offices
